Wealthsimple Partner Cash Back: How the Boosted Rates Work (October 2026)

Wealthsimple’s credit card already pays a flat 2% cash back on everything. This month, the fintech added a new trick: boosted cash back rates at partner stores — up to 8% total back at launch partners like Silk & Snow. The catch? You have to activate each offer in the app before you shop, or you earn nothing extra.

Here’s how the Credit Card Partner Cash back program works, who’s eligible, and the current partner rates as of October 23, 2026.

We may earn a commission if you sign up through links on this page — it costs you nothing and helps keep the lights on.

How it works

Three steps:

1. Activate the offer in the Wealthsimple app — find the partner promotion in the Cash Back Hub or on the credit card page and turn it on before you shop. There’s no retroactive bonus for purchases made before activation.
2. Shop with the partner through the app — use the in-app partner links — and pay with your Wealthsimple credit card. Wealthsimple’s own wording: the boosted cash back only applies when you shop through the app.
3. The extra cash back posts automatically once the qualifying purchase settles. No code to enter, no form to fill in.

Each partner has its own boosted rate, and it’s quoted as a total — the 2% base plus the extra. So “5% at Sephora” means 2% base + 3% boost, not 5% stacked on top of a separate 2%.

Current partners and rates (as of October 23, 2026)

Wealthsimple launched the program on October 1, 2026. Rates and end dates vary by partner — this is the official list from Wealthsimple’s help centre:

Partner Total cash back (base + extra) Where to shop Offer ends
Sephora 5% In-store or sephora.ca October 25, 2026
Silk & Snow 8% Showrooms or silkandsnow.com May 18, 2027
Altitude Sports 5% altitude-sports.com January 1, 2027
437 4% shop437.com May 27, 2027
Turo 7% Turo app or turo.com October 19, 2027

Wealthsimple’s credit card page also lists boosted offers at Walmart, Chewy, Audible, Hotels.com, Gap, Aesop, Sonos, Patagonia, and Dyson — but it doesn’t publish the rates there, so check the Cash Back Hub in the app for the current numbers before you shop.

Heads up on Sephora: the 5% rate ends Sunday, October 25, 2026 — two days from now. On a $200 haul, that’s $10 back instead of the usual $4. If Sephora is on your list, activate the offer now.

The catches

– 2% tier only. The program is open to Visa Infinite, Visa Infinite+, and Visa Infinite Privilege cardholders on the 2% base cash back rate. Cardholders on the 1% tier aren’t eligible.
– Activate first, always. No retroactive bonus — a purchase made before you tap “activate” earns the standard 2% only.
– Shop through the app. The boost only counts when you go through the app’s partner links.
– Exclusions apply. Gift cards, cash-like transactions, refunds, fees, and adjustments don’t earn the boost.
– Partners rotate. Wealthsimple says more partners are coming and terms can change — always check the app’s Cash Back Hub for the live list before a big purchase.

Is the card itself worth it?

The partner boosts sit on top of an already competitive card: 2% back on every purchase with no categories or caps, no foreign exchange fees, and 5% back for the first 5 weeks for new clients. The trade-offs: a $20/month fee if you hold under $100,000 in individual Wealthsimple assets (Quebec clients are charged annually instead), waived if you direct-deposit $4,000 or more per month into a Wealthsimple chequing account. Interest runs 20.99% on purchases and 22.99% on cash advances, and you can only pay the card balance from a Wealthsimple chequing account.

The bottom line

If you already carry the Wealthsimple card on the 2% tier, the Partner Cash back program is free money for about ten seconds of tapping — activate the offer, shop through the app, and collect up to 8% at partners you’d shop at anyway. Just remember the two rules that matter: activate before you buy, and re-check the partner list before a big purchase, because the lineup changes.
